okiez most of u all noe that i'm going italy with NUSWS, and i've been trying to save some $$. haha every cent counts. so i tot i was very clever haha! ate brunch (not very heavy one) and skipped lunch, till dinner time (dinner at home), so that i dunnit to spend money on food in school...
that was a very bad attempt of me trying to imitate huazhen (hehe if u dunno, hua's is a pharmer who photosynthesize). ended up feeling super terrible. was totally tired on the bus and when i got home, i quickly grabbed a banana (for faster sugar spike) before my dinner. After dinner, i dun even have energy to chew my orange... wanted to ask for Oreo from my sis but she said that was the last packet... -_- so... picked up 2 大白兔奶糖 and felt better.... tink the nausea and vomitting was part of the side effects from the tea i had in the afternoon... eeks!
so the moral of the story: dun try to be a plant when u cant photosynthesize. And if u really feel hypoglycemic, eat 大白兔奶糖 or Milo (recommended by my pharmacotherapy lecturer) haha!

Concert was ok, got quite alot of screw-ups, and not playing up to our own standard. Kept saying that rehearsals were better, but no use, hahaha the actual performance what that matters. and for some reason (paaaraa paaa laaa parrrr) tuba section felt like killing our own SL.. :P hahaha
Feedbacks from frenz said that many of them liked Soaring Over the Ridges, but Poema was quite shaky. [many of my frenz dunno wat the wind-machine was for haha but nvm :P ] But alright, I think overall the concert was still a success!!! encore was really high!!! hahaha..
I'm so glad Leonard Tan is our conductor cos he really brings NUSWS to greater heights (ya, like climbing mountains hahaha). [and i'm so honoured to be his student since sec3 hehehe]
ya concert was only 2 hours but to us, it was really the 2 hours that we're working for, on stage, trying to make everything sound right (but sometimes trying doesn't really help but at least all of us noe we tried). everything on stage zooms away so fast. and suddenly it was the end of the concert. ppl trying to remain high, exchange presents, take photos, eat. and after the whole day, we're back to reality again. sigh, mugging or watever u need to do...
er okiez...
Yes, I love NUSWS :) yeah! Thanks for all the memories. It's my best concert so far (yes, in my whole life). The fact that we may not be playing these pieces again makes me feel abit sad.. argh. haha

Sick.... and for the sick
I am down with common cold today. dunno wat strain is flying around now, but seems like there's a flu virus flying around FOS haha.. (cheryl said it's cos the ppl take the paracetamol for PK expt and den become sick den pass to us, haha!) okiez, for those interesting, i'm suffering from fever, runny nose, sore throat, and cough.. trying to keep the symptoms under control.
had no time to buy medicine for myself, so got Cloud to help me buy (cos i noe Arts students slack. OOPS!!) haa. asked him to help me buy Danzen and mucosolvan. was expecting like less than $10 only, but ended up paying $20 cos the pharamacist cheated him, ask him buy whole box of Danzen, so i've now 100 tabs of Danzen. LELONG WHO WANTS DANZEN CAN BUY FROM ME! i'll be selling at $2 per 10 tabs, hehe joking la... :P :P i so nice :P
Decided to be a good pharmer and write up on the drugs i'm taking for common cold here (for those non-pharmers who're sick too):
Danzen (aka serratiopeptidase)
anti-inflammatory for sore throat
dosing: 1 tab 3 times a day
mode of action: not known (my preceptor said cos researchers would rather spend their time on blockbuster drugs, rather then sth on sore throat)
Mucosolvan (aka ambroxol)
derivative of bromhexine, mucolytics, to thin the phlegm so that wun drip down the throat to cause cough (post-nasal drip)
dosing: 1 tab 3 times a day
Paracetamol
fever la!
rox.
decrease the temperature threshold in the temperature regulating centre in the brain (hypothalamus)
dosing: 15mg/kg body weight/dose, not more than 4g per day, usually 2 tabs 6-8 hourly
Rhinitin (aka 5mg Loratadin + 120mg pseudoephedrine sulphate)
runny nose, it's the generic for Clarinase (cost cheaper, but i find the onset a bit slower, but those who're on budget can try)
2nd generation antihistamine + vasoconstrictor (thus, contraindicted for ppl with severe hypertension and blah)
dosing: 1 tab 2times a day, max 10mg Loratadine a day
Phenexpect (for productive cough)
cough syrup
cause drowsiness
dosing: 10ml 3 times a day (for me i take only at night cos i dun wan to slp in the day!!!)
wah!! taking alot of drugs.............................. of course, all these are like revision when i was typing, i cant guarantee all correct.. (oops!) so better ask ur pharmacist b4 u start the medication haha! and take note of drug allergies and contraindications.

Random whining
some random stuff to whine about.. haha

a few days ago my fren asked me to donate B+ platelets to her grandpa. I agreed but asked her whether my previous blood donation will affect my eligibility. she said she'll ask but gave my number to NUH anw... After 1 day, she apologised saying that the nurse made a mistake that it was actually O and AB+ platelets that they need. i was so -_-" cos it's like.... quite a grave mistake. what if the mistake wasn't found out? cos, could have double check with the IC one ma.. or maybe the IC was wrong for the past decades haha... dunno... but anw, (as wat RC was telling me) healthcare professionals are always underpaid and overworked. that may explain why. but i guess the nurse must be feeling quite distraught by her mistake too...
anw, if u're blood type O or AB, can tell me if u're interested to help!!

my laptop got prob and i sent it to service on Monday. was told that they may reformat it and I received a call on Wednesday asking me whether i did a backup. Having my things backed up already, I agreed to the reformatting. and then, i went back on Friday (expecting everything to be fine and working). BUT the person told me they replaced the keyboard (actually i cant see any new things...) but found bad clusters during the check and advised me to back up and bring back again. ok.... i was quite sianz cos i tot i had agreed on the whatever reformatting or backup or wat.. den sensing my disappointment, the person told me that they had to order a new hard disk for me anw and can be done in 2-3 days. hmmm so... fine. i'm going back next week again to replace the hard disk.. argh.. before that, i must finish my reports on my laptop first (cos I NEED MY LAPTOP FOR REPORTS... dun wan to fight for the desktop)
anw.. going thru the whole event motivated me to sign up for IT courses haha. Like.. "how to prevent bad clusters", "how to take care of ur laptop".. i need them.

dun like my modules... pharmacokinetics is an interesting field of study but dun like 一粒橙. the module is very 有学问 but the lecturer sux. classmates are not very cooperative cos they keep making noises cos they cant stand the lecturer too.
Pharmacotherapy is cool cos it sounds like a really useful module. but it's tough, cos prerequisites are physiology and pathology and PHARMACOLOGY which are very siong modules.
1siong + 1siong + 1siong = 3siong = siongest
the rest... all dun like..
sw is not my type of module, shd have taken another geog and den SU hahah...
biotech: i'm not the technology person, u see haha
pharm Analysis: hmm interesting apparatus.. 1 corny lecturer + 1 trying-very-hard lecturer.. not much use for this module unless u're going to do research and industrial QC

Pharmacotherapy is cool cos it sounds like a really useful module. but it's tough, cos prerequisites are physiology and pathology and PHARMACOLOGY which are very siong modules.
1siong + 1siong + 1siong = 3siong = siongest
the rest... all dun like..
sw is not my type of module, shd have taken another geog and den SU hahah...
biotech: i'm not the technology person, u see haha
pharm Analysis: hmm interesting apparatus.. 1 corny lecturer + 1 trying-very-hard lecturer.. not much use for this module unless u're going to do research and industrial QC

dunno wat i wan to be...
If i really want to be an industrial researcher, I must be DAMN zai and determined i tink. Sometimes I tink i'm choosing this path because there's not much left... cos I dun wan to be a pharmacy pharmacist hahaah! (irony irony for a pharmer) but i guess, hospital pharmacist will be another option to this very zai path (if i cant make it)
I just wan to make music and not work, can? (but i'm not zai in music anw, so cant survive in sg haha)
