That was the bday with the most surprises I ever had..

Just to share =)

My hubby and I were freelancers (we work in the media) when he proposed. Our bank savings together hahaha were like in the mid 4 figures. We had concerns whether we could pull of our wedding and 2 dinners at that (one for family at Peony Jade- fantastic food and service... and another buffet style for friends held at The Pod NLB with Botak Jones catering plus beer on tap). Despite the little we had, we tithed with full faith knowing that God will take our little and multiply it like the 5 loaves and 2 fishes.

You know what? God really came through for us like He promised.

Our friend who does photography for magazines (pro) offered to take pre-wedding pics for free. Another friend (a professional Director of Photography aka cinematographer) did the actual day video and a friend who does wedding videos did the actual day photog. All for free. Our guests brought their own digital cameras and sent us heaps of photos. So photos were taken care of.

Gowns I managed to rent 2 that I liked for less than $3.5k and even bought an evening gown I liked also a a sale. This was from a lovely little shop in Punggol. For pre-wedding photography, a shop that sells off the rack peranakan clothes tailored my top to fit me and to the colours I wanted! Also the place we were renting hubby's actual day tux from, the lady owner generously lent me for free a lovely wedding bustier with beadings and all & jewellery to go with it. She even fitted me for it on the spot and sewed it to fit great. I told her I was wearing it underwater and she told me to go ahead. No problem. I really thanked God for her because I had no idea what to wear for the shoot that was the next day!! He perfectly provides in His time indeed!

Re: the dinner, my mum offer to pay first (since she insisted on a lot of things), and we were to pay back what we could once we opened the red packets that night.

Surprisingly everyone was so generous (even relatives who were distant relations) and we not only had enough to repay mum straightaway, we made enough to go on our honeymoon to Korea with more left over to buy appliances etc for our home, etc.

So dun worry abt whether there is enough money or not, keep your eyes on Jesus and trust your Abba Father to provide. =)
