So the discussion went on to ask ppl to sms or call in. Bulk of the discussion was whether to sue or not to sue the doctor and whether it's the doc's fault or the missy's fault. hmmm....
Curious, I went out of house with my phone earphones (normally I dun bring them out) and listened to the discussion on the bus. Nobody mentioned the role of a pharmacist?
So i smsed HAAHA.. okiez i was quite happy that my sms went thru (even without the 通关密语) haha. I just felt that I need to mention what a pharmacist can provide in such a situation, to the general public. Not everybody noes that the missy at the counter isn't a drug specialist. and not everybody noes that Singapore is far lagging other countries who are making the pharmacist as a bridge between the medicine and the doc/patients, so that any intervention would be possible.
regarding this case, in my opinion, the missy is actually at fault to change the medication on her own. But the licensed one is actually the doctor, and i would think that the doc would be legally at fault. But......... so innocent, right? haha....
Hmmm.... now I know why so many of the Pharmacy ppl are working so hard to make our profession more recognised. and why we were so pissed at you-know-which-minister's talk last year.
another example of pharmacist intervention
